Peace Plaza
Kabul, Afghanistan

As Russians were about to invade Afghanistan in 1979, I escaped the country with my mother. What followed were ten years of war with Russia (until their withdrawal in 1989) and two more decades of civil war at the hands of warlords from ethnically diverse tribes.
Peace Plaza (Day)
It has been very difficult to establish a sustained peace.

After the devastation of 9/11, I was shocked and saddened that this horrific act had been carried out with support and shelter from fanatical fundamentalist government in Afghanistan.

I began working on more humanitarian projects. What emerged were Peace Plaza, Land Mine Victims Memorial Hospital, and Open Heart Low Income Family Housing Project.

My architectural work is often symbolic and like giant sculptures. A building can be like a sculpted piece of art, a powerful structure and inspiring influence. I believe it should fulfill function with respect for environment and the people it serves.

In designing Peace Plaza, my intention was to establish Afghanistan as a center of peace studies and operations.

Peace Plaza
Center for Peace Studies

The 360 degree office building/institutional complex offers more than a home for peace resolution missions and study center for the world, yet it is focusing to be the bridge and center for peace spreading projects and programs for Afghanistan and all other peace willing nations.

This complex was designed to be built in Afghanistan after decades of war, brutality and the horrific day of 9/11 which was supported by the former fundamentalist government in Afghanistan, and the world took a new direction towards a safer and democratic governments for the suppressed governments of Afghanistan and Iraq, by discussion of U.S. government in republicans term and its allies.

My first credits are for United States Of America since the U.S. proved to the world as a nation of all gender and a role model for nation building around the world. And by bringing the other nations as allies for help in war towards a better and safer world, and to save nations rich in history and culture like Afghanistan And Iraq, to be free of fundamentalists, and dictatorial governments and to have a democratic and peaceful developing governments for their countries and to work their way towards the developing nations.

My second credit goes towards the new interim government of Afghanistan and Iraq, by helping U.S. on the war in terrorism as the first nations around the world.

Since United States Institute of Peace is an active peace institution in the U.S., by respect I chose Afghanistan to be the next site for peace center and peace studies (Peace Plaza).

As founder and an architect of the project I find Afghanistan the right place to focus on future world peace, to defeat suppressed governments and terrorism. Which my reasons could overwhelm all the peace organizations around the world.

Afghanistan is a nation that is suffering from its natural geographical location as a land lock country, although the richness of mountains, valleys and rivers which offers rich natural resources and has one of the most beautiful landscapes and breathtaking sceneries, are preventing and slowing Afghanistan down from growing and developing as nation.

It's the developing nations which are supporting peace and humanity around the world by sponsoring peaceful projects and organizations.

By providing comfort and higher educational systems and better living standards and curing civil wars of any kinds in their nations, their governments can afford to help other peace willing nations for a better safer world.

As an Afghan/American citizen I want Afghanistan to have the same living standards, for their suffocated and poor people which suffered decades of war and poverty.

I believe Peace Plaza and its missions can project and can design better gates of peace and humanity for the future generations ahead in Afghanistan and around the world.

A team of young energetic and peace loving men and women of Afghanistan and international governments will study and work in this complex.

There will be international open invitation to all the worlds governments to send a team of men and women to work and study peace with the Afghan government, and reside for a period of one to two years terms in the faculty of Peace Plaza. Since Afghanistan is in struggle of its own financial crises, nations who participate in sending their team of men and women to help and study at peace plaza is responsible for their own teams financial expenses.

The 360 degree peace complex is to solve conflicts.

Highlights

Peace Plaza complex is virtually rising from the symbol of peace by its circular architecture. The complex is focusing on future peace center, by sending peaceful missions designed to send peace rays at 360 degrees around the world, which Afghanistan will benefit from its first and its most important ones.

The 360 degree plaza design invites and allows peace activists from all genders to enter the complex plaza from all degrees, to study and work for peace and stability of the world.

For the respect of peace and future safety of the complex the complex is sited on 10 steps higher ground. The 10 step representing decades of wars in Afghanistan.

The walkway around the complex is called Circle Of Peace walkway. It is decorated by 360 planters, and every planter will be named after worlds peace activists. There are handicap and pedestrian ramps all around the complex.

As you enter the plaza, symbol of peace walkways inviting its staff and visitors to the core of the complex. Where the black red and green flag of Afghanistan are rising as a sign of hope for future peace and stability, and as modern contemporary cylinder shape columns of strength, sculpture flag is rising in three steps of heights. On a triangular base pointing North, and sliced in an angular cut on top, fighting for higher peace missions, for the country and all the nations around the world. The sculpture is holding the United Nations flags as Afghanistan is joining the world as a peace loving and democratic nation.

Peace Plaza complex spreads the mission of peace into its three complexes of office buildings, and a triangular memorial park in the memory of all its war victims. The three office building complexes are looking over the memorial park as a sign of respect.

The green memorial park which lies on the main opening of the complex, is for the memory of decades wars, and cruelty which took place in Afghanistan, and serving the complex for its future peace opening events, and awards giving ceremonial events will take place in this park. The triangular park is to be named after the completion of Peace Plaza. Its green lawn and threes are for the support of Green Peace, it will provide natural peace in front of the plaza, and for people to meet and have lunch and evening hours.

It's necessary for this center to educate and teach people trough art and literature, theatrical plays and documentary peace related films and other educational sources related to peace. Teaching peace and unity, especially after decades of war and civil thrive which Afghanistan faced, will make young and old to respect peace in Afghanistan. During the fundamentalists governments of Taliban the wounds and pains of war and poverty brought this nation to a grade, which was not accepted by the worlds nations. The size for this park is maybe small, but the message is brought. As the halls of peace and the performing hall is over looking the park, the park mourning for all the lives that were lost in decades of war in and outside of Afghanistan. Unfortunately war leaves nasty deep gaps in the memory of mankind, but a small tribute like this park, can help to heal the wounds and refill the open war gaps with peace. Peace Plaza Memorial Park is to be used for special events and ceremonial gatherings.

Peace Plaza and Its Importance
Peace Plaza as Ground Zero for peace and unity which virtually rises with its three complexes and a memorial park from a peace symbol, must have very focused and firm peace missions for Afghanistan and the rest of the world. Afghanistan can not afford any kind of war or war related conflicts, or any foreign invasions within its boundaries, and we as a peace loving nation must focus on disarmament of future Afghanistan, so any kinds of weaponry or killing devices would be prohibited and banned within Afghanistan's boundaries. We must prove to the rest of world, that what happened in the past decades and distant past, was a tragedy of foreign invasions and misunderstanding of our own Afghan ethnic backgrounds too, after defeating the foreign troops, which draw people of Afghanistan to fight against each other and create civil war in the country.

Tajics, Ozbeks, Hazara and the Pashtoons are our richness. In a way that life provided different unique ingredients for us to grow in a variety of colors, made and shapes and life gave us the opportunity to adopt ourselves to learn many languages and cultures, and live with in colorful rich culture to be unique as a whole, live surrounding one another and be gentle proud Afghanistan once again and for all.
While the time is tight, and the peace is right, when the time can be right, the peace can be bright.
All nations around the globe are trying to save our nation with its rich culture, and history by donating financial and educational aids to our government to be a democratic and developing nation, for our diverse ethnic backgrounds to have fair nationalistic respects and elections for a better future and independent Afghanistan.

I believe strongly that if Afghanistan works its way free of fear on becoming a strong, independent and civilized understanding nation, the U.S. and the rest of the world will recognize Afghanistan as center for the peace studies, since Afghans concurred any conflict and difficulty peace will be a piece of cake.

Peace Plaza must be built, and let us be honored from its landmark while Afghanistan is hot in the worlds agenda.

Analyzing Afghanistan from all its aspects, whether its location, history, culture, religion, people, or politics, we must blend peace into it, views of all its diverse ethnic backgrounds should be taught and respected peacefully, by spreading peace and peaceful missions carefully we can turn peace like a new religion, as the religions and the religious of the world is asking for.

A peaceful world is like the blessed season of spring time, where life of all kinds emerges and starts to bloom with new hope in its rich, fresh colors and takes shapes in its natural manners.

If man and woman respect the nature in a balanced matter and side by side together grows for a better planet in a balance way, I strongly believe is a cure for any kind of conflict, disease, poverty and other world illnesses.

As we know the three religions which was offered by God, (Judaism, Christianity, and Islam) is all about man's balance, peace and to respect, the nature of this planet and the way it was created. The messages that came from God, which we pointed as the highest of all powers, and the creator of everything and every one. Yet a large portion of the population on earth believes in other religious believes like Buddhism and Hinduism and many others which looks down to the planet in a detailed manner at its natural elements and wild lives, etcetera... With respect and balanced thoughts, we must study and respect their believes and way of life for the balance of world civilizations. We must respect the relationship between nature and man, which we man and nature couldn't or wouldn't be able to live and survive without each others beings.

As the fire gives us energy, water gives us life, air gives us oxygen, rocks and soil give us strength and vegetation give us growth. We must back peace and respect it being in way not to destroy and vanish the importance of it, by bombing the planet and exploding its natural resources, and creating pollution and environmental disasters.

Earth has its own construction methods towards being a balanced planet, like earthquake, fire, flood and other natural disasters happen for a reason in order to become a better balance planet in the solar system to stay in its orbit and capture the right distance from the sun in the right time to give as the four seasons which this planet depends on.

We humans get caught in between its changes, and loses lives in massive numbers, which I believe is our fault most of the time, because mans greed draws man to grow cities and developments in areas which considers as a fault line, and we trespass the line by disrespecting since which is (man's hard work, experiencing the planet and its behaviors) and the nature of this planet. We can prevent that by focusing and studying its causes, and find ways for a better and safer world developments.

I believe every individual in the world can concur the mystery of life if they don't act irresponsible, and they complete the cycle of life by living in the right place and doing the right things in very balanced, measured way for their needs, and not to over power themselves from its extras, and be environmental friendly, that's where the beauty of life starts. Where you live with respect for environments and peace on the planet.

Peace Fights Cancer

This institute will give the opportunity to students for fight against cancer. A chance for Afghans and international students around the world to focus on important issues to bring peace , fight cancer, and stability in Afghanistan which will helps stability around the world and the fight for cancer. So the world population get the opportunity to concentrate on their daily lives again and fight for cancer on their own, where in most countries, poverty causes cancer and cancer poverty. It is when the importance of peace comes and peace can make a difference, in order for the world to be developed and balanced, we need peace and peaceful missions internationally, which will end world conflicts and saving the worlds cultures respectfully.

The one and only God, the prophets and the nature of this planet will thank us, and life on Earth will find its balance which will keep us together and forever. Life on Earth will be happy, healthy, focused and unnecessary wasting of anything will end.

Message of Peace for Afghans

We must be proud of having such historical background, we're diverse and amazing ethnic tribes are living for thousands of years in such a remote part of the world on the mountains and valleys of this ancient, historical land, Afghanistan. Where the 1000 feet Buddha hasn't been completely discovered yet, where civilizations of the world once rolled from East to West and from South to North and Afghanistan was the meeting points for all the history and cultures of worlds cultural clash. As a civilization of art, culture, religion, and peace around the neighboring countries Afghanistan was the road and the bridge of trade and merchants of Eastern and Western civilizations. Our culture dominated the area, and thousands of years of culture must be protected in a peaceful loving manner, and by letting the nations around the world to come back to visit, invest. We can rebuild Afghanistan again and save this wonderful country once for all.

We must provide peace and harmony, love not poverty, focus on health and education provide schools and housing and respect the rights for women, children and one another to move Afghanistan towards a developing nation. Until Afghanistan becomes rich and strong to give hands around the world and to help other poor nations.
