"Live ," said the Moon on her perch
in the black sea of heaven.
"Fully," she whispered,
to the children of the earth,
who were making love and waging war,
eating and starving,
dying and being born.

"Live !", she shouted, as they stumbled and fell,
trying over and over
to walk in the shoes of immortality.

"Live !"...she cried, as they pulled their hair
in disbelief that they could in fact...
live forever.
"No, no, not forever," they sobbed,
"only for a little while...perhaps a hundred years."

"Live fully," she whispered again
alone in her heaven, without the Sun,
who comes when she leaves,
who rises when she falls,
who shines when she is dark.

"Fully !", echoed the Stars,
who wept for the Moon in her loneliness.
"You, Man, are not like us, set here
to light the sky for all generations.
Listen and live...
before the moon and stars burn out.
Learn that it is YOU who are immortal
and you who will shine
long after we've become dark.
Listen, Children of the Earth, and live
for eternity is Now."
