Hello, AltArtLI.Com members, welcome to another installment of Rant!, the official monthly newsletter of Alternative Arts of Long Island.
We would like to welcome all of our new members and supporting businesses.
2006 is becoming a huge year for Alternative Arts of Long Island.
Within the first three months of 2006, we have generated close to 400,000 hits and the numbers keep growing which shows us that the word is getting out there and people are interested in what's going on with the artists that call Long Island home.
We are very excited to see how much exposure the artists are getting in 2006.
We would like to congratulate the following artists for reaching the top three places for Most Visited Artists in the first quarter of 2006 for each category:

Alternative Arts of Long Island would like to welcome the Rose & Sage Cafe to the site.
This Huntington based cafe offers an assortment of culinary delights that combine health and great taste.
Inside the Rose & Sage Cafe, you will find a cozy atmosphere and a friendly staff.
Half of the cafe is an area called The Living Room in which the owners, Rich and Pat, host a variety of events ranging from monthly drum circles to vegan brunches.
Check our news section for the latest events going on at the cafe.
The Rose & Sage Cafe is a special place because the owners are committed to use their business to help out local talent.
The Rose & Sage Cafe are looking for artists to showcase their work in The Living Room.
Currently you can find a few pieces of work from our own Mikhail Gubin at the cafe and there is plenty of space for other artists to show their work.
If you are interested in showing your work, contact them at (631) 462-4620 or stop in.
For more information and directions, click here.

Alternative Arts of Long Island is proud to present Illuminati Murdock, a multi-media collaborative created by artists showcased on www.altartli.com.
On July 26, 2005, the idea of a collaborative project was posted on our message boards.
The idea was to designate a portion of the site for artists to put together pieces that could incorporate any kind of creative input from other artists on the site.
The format for this would allow a member to submit a piece of work that would be posted on line in which other members could download it, add to it and resubmit the piece.
As the idea evolved, members such as theDEXorphan, Eric Hurnyak and Brian Stevens of The Needs started getting together in February of 2006 to collaborate musically and begin the process.
Portions of these jam sessions have been posted here on the site in which we invite other members to contribute digitally through film, audio, spoken word, animation or remixes of the original tracks.
If you would like to check out or contribute to our live jam sessions, e-mail us at illuminatimurdock@altartli.com or give us a call at (631) 428-7876.
