Hello, AltArtLI.Com members, welcome to another installment of Rant!, the offical monthly newsletter of Alternative Arts of Long Island.

Alternative Arts of Long Island would like to welcome Alicia Schordine to the Art Studio.
Alicia Schordine came into this world via Eastern Long Island, NY on March 30, 1981.
Being the daughter of a professional artist, Alicia began her journey into the art world at a very young age, learning the ins and outs of the summer art shows and gallery circuits and soaking up the incredible diversity she discovered there.
Alicia studied art throughout her time in high school and went on to attain her BA from SUNY New Paltz in Theatrical Design in 2002.
After graduation, Alicia soon discovered that she missed the freedom found in the visual art world of her childhood and left the theatre behind to focus on her own creative endeavors.

In the fall of 2002, Alicia along with her mother realized a lifelong dream of theirs to open up a metaphysical shop, Blue Moon Enchantments, providing the community with a magical place full of peace, light, warmth and otherworldly knowledge.
Spirituality has always played a large part in Alicia's life, and her experiences within the spirit realm are vividly expressed through her artwork.

Working in oils, Alicia's paintings capture the etheric and elusive qualities of the otherworldly realms that coexist right beside our own.
Images of the Fae Folk, Goddesses, Soul Impressions and Wonderland-esque Landscapes grace her canvases, leaving the viewer to embrace the beauty of the world as Alicia sees it.
A world where behind every corner is a bit of magic just waiting to be noticed and set free.

RE: ATT MEMBERS - WANT TO PARTICIPATE IN A GROUP EFFORT?
Well, we had our first live gig for Illuminati Murdock this past weekend, and I gotta say it was a good show.
We got in about 3 sets which seemed to get a great response. We opened for 50 Ways to Kill Me - who kicked some ass doing a one man show. Pics of this gig are up in the shed.
We will be doing alot more gigs in the near future where the plan is to promote the artists on our site at every gig.
If you are a member of this site or an artist on board with us, please help support what we are doing by either getting involved creatively or just checking us out.
We currently are looking for artists to work with us to display video or their work while we play. If you think you got what it takes, then step up to the plate and do something for yourself and your work!
